Starting life back in 1884, Marks & Spencer has grown from a Penny Bazaar at Leeds Kirkgate Market, to operating over 1,330 stores worldwide. Built on strong values of Innovation, Inspiration and Integrity, M&S is now one of the UK’s leading retailers.
Sharing many of the same values as Bartuf, Marks & Spencer are committed to delivering on sustainable, ethical practices through its portfolio of high quality products and services.
Bartuf were tasked with installing a whole new concept mid floor and perimeter equipment in line with the client’s programme and brand identity. The project involved the installation of fixed equipment such as perimeter panelling, fitting rooms, till banks and columns in place of existing solutions.
In addition to these works, it was imperative that full customer access was maintained at all times throughout the construction phase.
Due to the large scale of the project, it was important to fully engage with Head Office stakeholders, stores and main contractors. This was necessary in order to phase store specific delivery and overcome any site specific constraints and environments.
A number of on-site modifications and project changes were captured, reported, planned, programmed, resourced and delivered alongside other phased work to mitigate impacts to the project lifecycle.
The project was completed on time and within budget. Installations were greeted with glowing reports from stores and stakeholders within Head Office.
Feedback from main contractors on our 360 degree questionnaires scored Bartuf highly in our methodology, commercial and project delivery activity. The Marks & Spencer contract was valued at £900k, with the installation taking place over 38 weeks in multiple stores throughout the UK.
